Casual Sex for Women: It Ain’t What Its Cracked Up to Be?
Are women more likely to have an orgasm when in a committed relationship?
According to a new study of 600 female college students, conducted by Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction, women are half as likely to experience an orgasm during casual sex than when having sex within a serious relationship.
In a separate study researching the sex lives of 24,000 college students at 21 universities over a five-year period, New York University sociologist Paula England found that only 40 percent of women claimed to have had an orgasm during their latest casual sexual encounter. However, 75 percent of women in the study reported they had an orgasm the last time they had sex while in a committed relationship.
